    Question can you correct me

    can you tell whether the following usage is correct

    the train delayed by one and half hours.

    should i use one and half hour or hours...please clarify

    I personally would say this:

    'The train was delayed by one-and-a-half hours.'

    First of all I'd say "The train was delayed..." (the train can never do it itself, it's always driven by a conductor, therefore passive)

    and for the rest of the sentence it should be "by one and a half hours"
