    Comprehension

    Dear teachers,

    I found the following sentence difficult to understand:

    Translation therefore---mainly in the context of asymmetrical cultres---does not confirm bordres and inscribe the dichotomy of center-perriphery, and rather identifies pluricentres where cultural differeces are negotiated.

    nb misspellings

    Lovely jargon! I think it is saying that one language cannot translate exactly into or from another due to the many differences in cultures, and that these differences have to be worked round in translating.
