    Re: since or for

I would say, "We work with other companies that we have trusted for many years."

Usually, when you use "since" or "for," you need to use the Present Perfect tense ("we have trusted").

Use "for" when you are tell how long, like "one minute", or "two years," or "many years."

Use "since" when you are saying the specific time, like "since 1979," or "since this morning."

I think A is ok .because since represents that from given point of time to future some time.not used before period of time, e.g. "three years",just for point of time.

    e.g. we can say:
She has been ill since Monday.

he has been a teacher since 1980

    Re: since or for

You can trust the company for many years

You have trusted the company since [a specific time]

Sentence 1 to be fully correct would need to be:
    1) we work with other companies that we have trusted for many years.

    Hi

Since: from a time in the past till a later past time or now. (eg. since 1980, 1987, that day)
For: a period of time. ( for a long time, 10 minutes, ages)

I think "We have been working/doing business for many years with companies that we trust" or "For many years we've been working/doing business with companies that we trust" would sound better.

    Exclamation Re: since or for

You definitely always, always(!) need a present perfect with 'since' (=point of time) and 'for' (=period of time). So I agree with retro, your correct answer would be:

We have been working with other companies that we trust for many years.

    Welcome, abhiram.

Please note, both sentences are ungrammatical. Please see post #2.

    All the best.
