    I believe both sentences are correct. Am I right?

    Yes. The first sentence makes the meaning absolutely clear, though.

    "Summer Play Camp will be very exciting this year! Children between the ages of 8 and 12 will spend their time with diving lessons, arts and crafts, and reading time. Children between 4 and 7 will have swimming lessons, arts and crafts, and story time with Miss Jill. There is also a special half-day class for 3-year-olds (must be toilet trained)."
