    help please!

    Hi teachers,
Please help me with the following sentence.

    1. May I have your mobile number please?
Is this a wrong statement to make. My teacher said that when you use 'have' that means you are consuming something so instead of using 'have' in this sentence use 'get'
say " Can I get your mobile number please".

    2. What would be the right expression for this situation.
" I was getting ready for my office. I took a bath at 10 am & then I applied deodrant over my body ..... "
'then I applied deodrant ....Is it a right expression.
    Thank You.
    Jhon

    Re: help please!

    Hello, jhonsmith1.

This is a polite request, May I have your mobile number please? Your teacher's suggested correction, Can I get your mobile number please? is also acceptable, but not as polite. The situation will determine which of the two fits best. Context is everything.

As for your second question, try wording your sentences like this,

Ex: I was getting ready for work. I took a bath at 10 a.m., put on deodorant, ... .

    Does that help?
