    do/have

Mary has a big house and so have/do/ I.
I have a sports car and so has/do my brother.

Which verb is correct? I think 'have'?

If 'have' is correct, could someone please provide example sentences with 'do' as the second verb?

    Thank you very much.

Have in BE. I believe AmE prefers do. (Of course, the American usage is seeping into BE via Hollywood and TV).

    Re: do/have

    Americans would say
"... and so do I" and
"... and so does my brother."

Note that in terms of grammar, you normally use an auxiliary verb with the adverb so (meaning 'in the same or a similar way') in such cases like yours above. Cf.

Mary has a big house and so do I.
I have a sports car and so does my brother.
