    Business English

I often see sentence like this at the end of letters written in different ways:

    1. I would appreciate if you would give us a reply within two weeks.

    2. I would appreciate it if you would give us a reply within two weeks.

    3. I will appreciate it if you would give us a reply within two weeks.

Which is more correct/better way of writing?

If you leave out it after appreciate use a noun: I would appreciate a reply...
In this way you avoid would after if even if it is used for politeness reasons. To me 3 is not acceptable.

#3 certainly sounds much more aggressive - the sort of phrasing you use if you have been given a run-around by the other party.

With #2 (the most suitable form), it is not usually regarded as good writing to use the same conditionals in two places:

I would appreciate it if you could give us a reply within two weeks.
