    what do you mean when you say "I don't buy it"?

    Not the buying of something as shopping, but the one they say, I don't buy for it.

    I means "I don't believe that what you have just said is true."

    I could mean either that you think the person is telling a lie, or that what has been suggested simply isn't plausible.
