    across low or wet ground

causeway = a raised road or path, as across low or wet ground.

I am writing my understanding. Please you help me.
(a road where on both side was covered with low or wet swamp and in the middle there was a road, and it is a causeway)

Re: across low or wet ground

The road is raised so that it is at a higher level than the ground or swamp.
