    Question meaning

    While watching series drama "standoff" I was wondering a certain English phrase.
    There was a situation that a boy threatning people in a hospital.
    Because he wanted to save his dying sister.
    So an FBI agent got there he called the boy. and then he asked the boy.
    "....Where is your mom and dad still in the picture?"
    I want to know exact meaning that underlined phrase. Would you please?

    Should it read,

    "....Where is your mom, and is dad still in the picture?"

    If so, the phrase still in the picture means, part of the family. In other words, are your mom and dad together, still married, or are they divorced or separated?

    Does that help?
