    mixed conditionals

    Hi there ,

    Please go to the link and have look at the question number 8.

    The given answer is "The speaker thinsks that it probably was Sally".

    Could somebody possibly comment on this please?

    I think the sentence has got nothing to do with conditionals. It expresses a probability that it was not Sally.

    If the person thinks it might not have been her, they recognise that there is a small possibility that it wasn't her, but they are not persuaded.
