    Arrow Past Participle

Could you please suggest me which one of the following is correct?

If I would have arrived on time, I would have caught the flight. OR
If I had arrived on time, I would have caught the flight.

If you say both of them are correct then what is the exact difference?

    Thanks in advance,
    Ruba.

It's only the second sentence that is correct. It's a type 3 conditional sentence, by the way.
