I guess people are upbeat that something good is going to happen when they say this and don't mean it literally??
One guy was playing poker and got straight flush.
He said "execuse me" to other players and went outdoors and shouted out "I'm going to Disneyland" then came back at the table with a poker face on
When I win the lottery, I'm apt to shout, "Venice, here I come!" I've always wanted to visit Italy. But I would never say "I'm going to Disneyland" as an expression of excitement; I have no desire to go there. Perhaps others have heard it used as a generic expression of excitement.
It is not a generic expression, and I agree with your statement Ikia!
I'd say: I'm off to Egypt...
It's happened to me, and I'm going to Egypt on August the 8th!!!
