Could you please correct the following sentences. I would much appreciate if you could explain the reasons behind those choices.
1. The moon rose, like a royalty walking down A / THE red carpet.
2. They had a good time, several nights spent lying beside A/ THE /nil campfire(s).
What if the second sentence is trying to imply several nights spent beside several different campfires?
Then leave out the article [and rephrase] : 2. For several nights they had a good time lying beside campfires
