Have you ever and Do you ever

I'm having a problem with my Thai Teachers and students. They all say that they have been taught to say Do you ever for just about everything. Me I have been saying Have you ever, so when do you and how do you use the Have you ever and the Do you ever.

Re: Have you ever and Do you ever

Um... A little bit more context would help.
Do you ever (watch...)- the present simple tense.
Have you ever (watched...)- the present perfect tense
