    I think of using "relieve", though I think others use another word for this.

    What did you do to relieve you from hangover?

    What about "recover"?[but without "you"] or even "get" which is the most used English verb. I am not sure, though.

    is it ok to fill it with 'prevent' or a word like this.

    you prevent hangover related symptoms before they occur

    Yes, he already have it. Can you prevent one from having hangover? Well, not drinking perhaps prevents us from having hangover.

    Yes, you can prevent hangover by taking pills or some other ways of doing it [accupuncture, I guess, and other methods]

    I think a lot of people don't prefer abstinence from drinking. It is only having hang-over that they care about. Are you saying that the person is already drunk and what did he do to relieve himself?
