    Article

Hi, I am new here and I have a lot to learn.
I try to start with begining and I start with Article...after I a made my firth test with articles...I saw I don't know well....I look after Articles in one book what I have at home..., but I don't understan very well I think because I make same mistakes in the test. I know...We use a before a consonant sound and an before a vowel sound. But I see existe some exception to the rule. Can you explain to me?
    Thank you.
    Carmen

    Re: Article

It's the sound, not the spelling:
an umbrella vs a university (it begins with a 'y' sound)
an egg vs a European (it begins with a 'y' sound)
