    questions

    Teacher,

I posted this one on a different post.....
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our human mechanism---brain and body---is breaking down under the strain.

Could you explain to me what "strain" is?

And I often hear "strain" with "stress" as in "stress and strain"...

    How are they related?

    Thanks in advance!

***Why is the hamster eating your finger?

I asked what he means by "Why is the hamster eating your finger?" and he replied that it's because of the avatar I'm using...

    I don't get it!!!

    My Questions :
1.) What does he mean by "Why is the hamster eating your finger?"
2.) What is "avatar"? Could you please cite the avatar in my post...

    Re: questions

Strain = pressure, so when we say 'stress and strain' we are basically repeating ourselves.
Avatar = the small picture you have in the top-left hand corner of your posts, showing a small furry animal that appears to be biting your finger.

Do you mean that "stress and strain" are synonyms and interchangeable?
