    Type of Noun

    Just as a verb is considered a gerund when using "ing," what is the specific type of noun when used as an epithet, e.g. he is a "bastard?"

    A friend and I were discussing various grammatical terms and this one stumped us.

    noun: descriptive word or phrase
    noun: a defamatory or abusive word or phrase
