john - Am English informal, a toilet

    Re: confused

In the US, "powder room" is also called a "half bath" and it means a small room with a toilet and sink in someone's home - usually near the living room.

You have a powder room so that your guests don't have have to go use the bathroom (in America, it has a toilet, always) that your family uses with all your clutter all over the place.

    Smile Re: confused

Loo also is said for toilet
    It's informal
    eg:
May I go to the loo?

    Re: confused

the most correct form would be to say your going to the bathroom or restroom.
