    Is this right?

    Is this sentence correct?

It shouldn't be being used by another user.

I mean than no user should be using it.

    Re: Is this right?

    You should omit "being".

Sorry, but I didn't get it.
    Why is that sentence wrong?

    Thanks!

Ok, I understand that without being is correct.

Now can you explain me why it is not correct to say:

It shouldn't be being used by another user.

    Thanks

Because "be" is never followed by "being" in English, though you can say: "am/is/are/was/were/ being used".

    Re: Is this right?

The thing is, though, that it is.

A: I can't log in to my account.
B: Let me see what the problem is. Ah, your account is being used by another user.
A: What do you mean?! I should be the only user who can use that account! It shouldn't be being used by any other user!

You can say that A should have said "It shouldn't be in use" or something like that, but this sounds very natural to me.

    Or this:
A: I'm thinking of ending my relationship with Jerry.
    B: Really why?
A: He's being such a jerk these days.
B: Doesn't he remember that your father just got him a job? He shouldn't be being a jerk to you!
