How do you know the usage of the words such as hazard, risk, and jeopardy?
Refer to the following question and tell me how to tell them from each other and give me a correct answer, too.
Many thanks for your help in advance.
THe singer's luxusious way of life put his finances in _____.
the word harzard according to the dictionay, means something that is dangerous and likely to cause problems. Misfortune means bad luck. what the context mean is the way of his living put his finances on the edge of being destroyed, so they are not fit. And, i think you have to change the prepostion if you want to use the word risk, such as at risk. In jeopardy means in danger of being damanged or destroyed. according to the dictionary, i.e. the lives of thousands of birds are in jeopardy as a result of oil spillage.
As a result, according to the dictionary one more time, i think D is right.
Dear teachers, please correct me if i'm wrong.
