    Red face Bowled over

Please explain - someone told me `You bowled me over. English is not my mother-tongue, and although I already have consulted the dictionary, it would be good to hear other ideas.

    Re: Bowled over

    I was surprised by something
I was knocked over by someone who hit me with their body.

It comes from the game of bowling where a wooden ball is rolled at a set of upright objects in order to knock them over.

You bowled me over = I was really impressed by something you did (in a positive way)

You bowled me over with that presentation. It was terrific.
