    meaning

    They are so much in danger that they need to see around things before moving ahead.
    What is the meaning of see around here?

    I think, to see around means to see surrounding area in a circular motion by moving your eyes around.

    Moreover, I don't think it is a phrasal verb.

    More context is needed to be sure. Are "they" being chased and so need to see what is on the other side of something before going forward?
