    Pronunciation logic in English?

    Hi,
Is their a way to guess the pronunciation of a word in English.
For exemple, "I live in Brighton" and "He played live in Brighton arena".
    Do you have any tip?

I know of no universal rule of thumb. Generally, take all the opportunities you can for listening to native speakers. (If you study derivations you can sometimes get a clue, but not always a reliable one! What native speakers do is what matters and what native speakers do sometimes is follow a derivation to some arbitrary point in the past.*)

    * Only this fairly obscure example springs to mind: there is a principle in English law known as habeas corpus which is pronounced in British English with the initial syllable /heı/. I don't think American English does this, and US legal dramas are spreading the // pronunciation. But our diphthong is just a late-19th-century affectation.
