    waiting!

What do you call someone who waits for someone?

    Say,

"Oh Mary, you have a _____('sundo' is Filipino). He's waiting for you in the car by the front door."

Not a driver, or a waiter...

    Re: waiting!

"visitor" is the nearest I can get to this in a single word. Otherwise "Mary, there is someone for you."

Say, a father would go to his son's elementary school to fetch his son. He would be what?

    Re: waiting!

There isn't a single word for this. He would be a father collecting his child from school

Is "collecting" the most common word used in this case? For I usually hear "collecting" when it involves money.

Would it be fine to say "Your father is collecting you."

    Re: waiting!

Really? I only hear of collecting when it comes to money.
How about, me collecting my girlfriend, is it okay?

    Re: waiting!

It is a common expression: I am collecting my brother from the train tomorrow; I will collect you after work; I will collect some flowers from the garden to put into a vase; I have collected the parcel from the post office; I collect my daughter from school every day.
