    and what 's its usage?

    It's when something from another era is suddenly comes to your attention - either you see or hear it, or someone mentions it, and it makes you think of that by-gone time.

    It needs to be from a time you experienced yourself - I can't see something from the era of Elizabeth I in England and have it be a "blast from the past."

    Let's say you're riding in your car at the age of 45, and a song comes on the radio from the year you graduated high school. That song was a blast from the past.
