What does 'be well up in' mean in here:
'Lot of old fogies here, I'm afraid'
Ought, perhaps, to have taken you somewhere more modern. Not very well up in these things, you see.'

"I am not very knowledgeable/I am not au fait about these things" [in this case restaurants]. The person speaking does not follow latest fashion.
