Hello again. I was wondering what entryway means in this context :
" We made our way past the entryway. " The two persons are going to visit a zoo.
This looks like a variation of "entrance". Although "entrance" seems to imply a portal of some kind (a door into a room, a tunnel into a cave). "Entryway" may mean someting outside like a gate, or a large arch over a path that marks "the way in".
Also, it may imply that the zoo is entered and exited by different paths, which is common in some public places. Althouhg, I don't believe I've ever encountered an "exitway".
