When I say "come here" sometimes you use your hand. Is it a gesture or not?

    Re: gesture

The hand movement is, but the words aren't.

body language is the nonverbal communication using posture, gesture... but what I'm asking is only about the "come here gesture"(not the right word) if we have a term for it. If none, it's fine.

    Re: gesture

The actual hand gesture is referred to as a "come here" or "come hither" or "beckoning sign." It is usually performed with either just the index finger, or else all four fingers. The palm is facing skyward, and the finger(s) are repeatedly extended outward and then curled towards yourself.

So I'm right to call it a "come here gesture". Thanks Ouisch!
