Are you wanting to ask if the length of time that the works will take is 12 months, or giving a promise that if anything goes wrong within twelve months, the supplier/contractor will repair or replace?

4. ## Re: of or for?

Yes - Giving a promise that if anything goes wrong within twelve months, the supplier/contractor will repair or replace

5. ## Re: of or for?

Then the guarantee is for 12 months = it lasts twelve months.

6. ## Re: of or for?

so "The guarantee period of the work is for 12 months" is correct?

8. ## Re: of or for?

which is better:
the guarantee of the work is for 12 months OR
the guarantee period of the work is for 12 months

9. ## Re: of or for?

Better still: The work is guaranteed for 12 months.

Of your two sentences I think I prefer the first.

10. ## Re: of or for?

Thanks a lot!!!!!
