    Semant

Is there such a word as "semant"? If there is, which dictionary lists it?

    I don't think so.
At least not in standard English.

It depends what you mean by 'word'. Someone (weiming?) used it in a way that made sense, and at least some people understood it. I wouldn't be surprised if it came to be listed in a dictionary in due course.

Read Professor David Crystal's article Language changes, so don't be afraid to embrace the new - Times Online, from which this is an extract:
But don’t restrict your attention to dictionaries. New words come into the language every day, filling gaps and meeting needs that weren’t there before. You hear them on television and see them in the press. Who invents these new words? You and me.
Of course, embracing change - as suggested in the article - doesn't make life easy for learners. But that's the way with natural languages.

I'd like to know about this. Could you put that word in context for us, into a sentence?

Note, some writers shorten the word semantics to semant. (with a period).
