    Vanilla phase

    Hello all,

I'm doing translations from English into German and now I've come across the term "vanilla phase". I'm not sure what that means (first phase, test phase?). Could you explain it to me?
It occured in the context of implementing software.

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: Vanilla phase

"Vanilla" is being used as a synonym for "basic" - the software producers are no longer selling simple one-use products; their software is becoming increasingly complex.
