    What country is the flag?

Excuse me, I asked you once about a natural way of asking about "the colour of the coat that a father bought", which appeared to be "What colour coat did he buy?"
Again am I in perpexity. Is it OK if I ask: "What country is the flag?" and "What country flag do you choose?" Thanks in advance.

Try "What country' flag is do/did you choose?" or "Which country does the/that flag belong to (that you chose)?"

Re: What country is the flag?

    Thanks a lot!

I was thinking of something like your:
"Which country does the/that flag belong to (that you chose)?"
    - Just wondered if there is something less academic for asking a child.

    Your:

"What country' flag is do/did you choose?"
    - Isn't there a mistake? Did you mean "What country is the flag (that) you choose/chose?". Please give your comment.

Excuse me for making a fuss about it.

So sorry, I missed an "s" in my haste. It should read "country's", and you're more than welcome to make a fuss over it, hehe.

Re: What country is the flag?

    To weiming

Sorry, what's you proposal then, is it:

"What country's flag do/did you choose?" (and "What country's flag is it?")
"What country is the flag (that) you choose/chose?" (and "What country is the flag?")

Because your amended "What country's flag is do/did you choose?" stilll doesn't make much sense to me...

And again, focusing on one question, I ignored the other, as is sometimes my bad habit. It should read:

"What country's flag do you choose for your project?"

    or

"What country's flag did you chose for your project?"

Forest for the trees, and all that.
