    brand name/generic change it to ....

    Hi there.

    Is it Okay to say the following?

    "Paul has been taking this particular brand name medicine for years. In order to lower the cost, the insurance company decides to change it to a generic one."

    It's OK if you're telling a story of, say, a film, but I would change 'decides' to the present perfect if it's real life.
