How do you pronounce your [s]? Because it is such a general sound, I understand why there are so many different variations on it, and why so many people have different kinds of lisps.
I have a variation of a lisp, and am wondering how other people pronounce their [s] so I can fix mine. I pronounce it by putting my tongue between both rows of teeth, and then flowing air through one of the cracks in my teeth, producing a sort of whistling sound with a tiny mix of [θ].
If this is in the wrong section or even on the wrong website, please accept my apologies and and delete this post.
Top and bottom teeth together (there should not be an opening), the tip of your tongue should be inside your mouth, not out, and it should be near the hard gum ridge directly above your front teeth. The tip of your tongue should be close to, but not touching, the back of your top front teeth where they meet the gum line.
