How are you doing?
I found these questions on TOEFL practice test:
1) Some(A) hangers, buildings used to hold large aircraft, are very(B) tall that
rain occasionally falls from(C) clouds that form along(D) the ceilings.
2) Most sand dunes are always in motion(A) as wind pushes sand upward(B) one side of each dune, over the top, and(C) down the other(D) side.
the question is: Which is incorrect A,B,C or D ?and why?
**At the end of the practice test I found that the answer for Q1 is (B)
and for Q2 also (B) but I do not know Why.
1.Very is indeed incorrect. The correct word is so:
1) Some(A) hangers, buildings used to hold large aircraft, are so(B) tall that rain occasionally falls from(C) clouds that form along(D) the ceilings.
2. The correct word is up
up...over..and down .., or
upward .. and downward[ which is not the case of your second sentence]

I would have said "up" one side. But either way, in the test, the preposition given is incorrect.
