    second hand

    the second hand on a clock indicates minutes or second?

    The second hand indicated the seconds.
    The minute hand indicated the minutes. Children learning to tell time will call the minute hand the "long hand" or the "big hand."

    (Though on my Mickey Mouse watch, the hand are almost the same size.)
