    Re: My life a fragment

For examples, a sentence is a fragment when it isn't complete. So, the author of My Life is a Fragment is saying that his life isn't/wasn't complete.

Could I say "My life is in tatters/pieces"?

The sentence is fine but its meaning is different from our example. Try, My life is in fragments / fragmented.
