    Smile Query- Is this correct?

    Hi,
Does the following sentence make grammatical sense?

"Amy was supposed to have gone to the shops tomorrow".

The sentence is meant to imply that say, yesterday, Amy was supposed to have gone to the shops at some stage in the future, but she no longer is.

If it is correct, what tense would this be?

    Thanks for the help. :)

    No, this is not correct.

The use of the word tomorrow implies the action is to take place in the future, so you should use the present tense for the verb to be. the simple infinitive of to go is also used
Amy is supposed to go to the shops tomorrow.

However, this does not convey the meaning that she won't go to the shops. To do this you must add an additional clause.....something like this...

Amy is supposed to go to the shops tomorrow, but she has changed her mind.
