I am searching for the proper name for the part of speach of the last word in a sentence of the form, "Jim is cold". I believe that the first word is a noun, the second a verb, and many times the third is used as an adjective. I am wondering if the third word, as used in the example, has another appellation.

    Re: Mr.

I think the word you're looking for is complement. Check the Grammar Glossary on this website.
