    I. A:" Is Tom a doctor?"
    B:" Yes, he is ."

    II. A:" Is Tom a doctor?"
    B:" He was."

    I understand the I. means Tom is a doctor now. The II. means Tom isn't a doctor now, he was a doctor in the past. Right? Pls.
