    Re-direct

    If from A > B is direct situation, then from A > B > C is re-direct. Is it right understanding?

    - but there's no hyphen.

    Examples:

Because of the security alert, flights to Heathrow are being redirected to Stansted. [Heathrow = B, Stansted = C]

During the university term, we are redirecting his mail to Leeds. [home address = B, Leeds = C]

    Re: Re-direct

A shipment from factory A in mainland Dongguan > office B in HK > factory C in mainland Shanghai. Can I say this is a redirect shipment or transhipment?

    Re: Re-direct

If it was originally intended to go to HK, but is sent on to Shanghai (probably because the people at HK know something that the people at Donguan don't), it's redirected.

    Re: Re-direct

To avoid the complex trading duties in mainland, a lot of companies (established in HK or in mainland) would like get their shipments through HK to the desired destinations even their manufacturers and vendors both are in mainland. What kind of those shipments? transhipment?

I'm not a lawyer, but that situation seems to meet this definition: Legal Definition of Transshipment
