A Test: I saw him running....

I saw him running down the street.
I saw him run down the street.

    (A) He having left, I decided to go too.
    (B) Him having left, I decided to go too.
    (C) His having left, I decided to go too.

    Which is correct, (A), (B), or (C)?

What is the grammar rule here?

A is the best option, but it's awfully awkward here. I'd rephrase it.
