To go home is a verbal expression in your sentence.

However, home can be either a noun or an adverb, depending on the context you use it in :
    e.g.
He doesn`t have a home to go - noun

He stays home on weekends. - adverb

Home can also function as an adjective :
e.g. my home town - adjective

It's both. Every word has a form, what it looks like, and a function, what it does in the sentence.

Home is a noun in form (it's a place) and an adverb in function (it answers the question where):

    Test It!
    Q: Where are you going?
    A: Home. <adverb>
