    less or periods

    I'm an Iranian student
    i have struggle with my one of English teachers on a question
    the question is this :the weather tomorrow will be cloudy with sunny .............(less-periods)
    witch word is correct less or periods ?

    The weather tomorrow will be cloudy with sunny periods.

    It means the day will be mostly cloudy but the sun will come out every now and then.

    The weather will be cloudy with sunny periods tomorrow. or

    Tomorrow, the weather will be cloudy with sunny periods.

    You can also insert the word less:

    The weather tomorrow will be cloudy with less sunny periods [than today / than during the first half of the month, etc]].

    Usually we would say "fewer" sunny periods.

    Hi! I think itīs better to reconstruct that sentence this way:

    Tomorrowīs weather is going to be cloudy but with sunny periods at short intervals.


    *I actually heard this weather forecast before... So I guess itīs safe to use this one.
