    hi everybody,

    Pleae see hereunder a quoted text:

    "I was quite used to waiting for John, but having CA waiting alongside made me
    extremely uncomfortable".

    1)Now would you explain me what 'having' means here? What is the sense it(Having) gives here?
    2)Usually we use verb in p.perfect after use of having. But here I cannot see this.

    "having CA waiting" - implies the state of someone else being with you. The "having" here is a gerund.
