    The meaning of "get around"?

    Hello Everyone,

What is the meaning of "get around" in the following sentence?

We got around the problem by measuring brain chemistry during acupuncture. Drugs were administered to block the brainís natural opiates while the patient was undergoing needle stimulation. As a result of the opiate blockage, the acupuncture had no effect in stopping pain-proving that there is physiological mechanism to acupuncture that goes beyond mere belief.

    Regards

    Sky

Imagine that you are walking down a path and there is a huge rock in the middle of it. You cannot continue down the path in the normal way because it blocks your way...but you discover that you can walk around it somehow, get to the other side and continue down the path.

Well, a problem is like that rock. It prevents us from doing something. so we must figure out a way to "get around" this problem.

Basically what I am trying to say by analogy, "get around" means "find a solution to" in order to get past a problem.
