    memories

    Hi there,

I have particularly fond memories of you.
How about the following sentence? Is it correct?
Visiting the elderly home recalled my memories of the time when I was with my grandparents.

    many thanks

I would more likely use a form such as "..brought back memories of the time .." , or " .. recalled the time .. "

The reason I make this suggestion is that to recall and to remember have almost the same meaning.

Your phrase is an example of a tautology - a phrase which ends up saying the same thing twice in different ways. Some other examples which I hope will be obvious - "A seive full of holes" "a canine dog" even "dirty mud"

    Cheers,

That is grammatically correct but this sentence is better as you point out. ( I missed that second part of the question in my previous answer)

Visiting the elderly home brought back memories of the time when I was with my grandparents.
