    Smile counted down

The crowd yelled with me as I counted down 3, 2, 1 ... I ran and dove off the front of the stage.

I wonder how I should express it if I want to count the other round. Is it "counted up 1, 2, 3 ..." or "counted 3?" In our culture, we usually count from one to a certain number we want. For example, I'll count to ten and then you can begin to eat?
    Thanks.

The crowd yelled with me as I began my count - 1, 2, 3 and at this pointI ran diving off the front of the stage.

    Thanks, Naamplao, for your version.
It sounds excellent to you but I wonder if I could also say ".. as I began to count--1, 2, amd 3, ..."
By the way, Is it right to say I'll count to 10 or I'll count 10?

You should say I'll count to 10 but I wouldn't if I was writing a story with this passage in it. Why? because it lacks drama to me.

The crowd yelled with me as I began my count...1, 2, 3...hands reached out to me in frantic bidding...4, 5, 6...my feet nervously scrapped the floor of the stage...7, 8, 9...at this point I started my run ...10... I dove off the front of the stage.

How does that sound to you??

Excellent! Bravo! Right on! Are you a writer by the way?
You're an expert at writing dramas!

A minor aside, how do you rephrase "in frantic bidding," especially bidding?

Hahaha....I do some writing for a hobby. I am not published. I usually write poetry but I do have a few short stories.

You don't like "frantic bidding", eh. It seemed to fit the mood to me, but ok let us see what we could say as an alternative.

The crowd yelled with me as I began my count...1, 2, 3...hands reached out to me in anticipation...4, 5, 6...my feet nervously scrapped the floor of the stage...7, 8, 9...at this point I started my run ...10... I dove off the front of the stage.

    There how is that...but I did like "in frantic bidding" {sigh}

    Thanks, Naamplao.

You misunderstoom me--I does like "in frantic bidding" because it's unique. Before I can imitate it, I'd like to pinpoint its meaning.

    Oh I see.

    Bidding
    means invitation or request.
Frantic means in a very emotional, desperate manner.

So the crowd is waving their hands at you, wanting you to jump off the stage.
